WCCC Awarded grant for bolt replacement projects

The Western Colorado Climbers Coalition (WCCC) recently applied for a funding from the 2021 Access Fund Anchor Replacement Fund. The WCCC was awarded $2,084 to upgrade the existing hardware (anchors and bolts) at the Grit Wall and the Four Blocks Wall in Unaweep Canyon’s Nine Mile Hill. These upgrades will include switching the existing expansion bolts to wave bolts and relocating some anchor locations to reduce erosion on the sandstone due to rope drag. Further, the WCCC will contribute $700 to the project. These are your membership contributions at work! We hope to have this work completed during Q1 of 2022.
